Part of my approach to coding includes a commitment to making websites accessible for all users. Technically speaking this is referred to as “accessibility.” Accessible web sites create a better experience for the user which in turn creates a richer web community. Please contact me if you have any questions or suggestions regarding the accessibility of this site.
Access Keys
Access keys allow you to jump to important links. For Windows, press ALT plus the Access Key. For Mac’s, press CONTROL plus the Access Key. Scottlenger.com has the following Access keys defined:
- Access Key 1 - Homepage
- Access Key 3 - Sitemap
- Access key 4 - Search
- Access Key 9 - Contact/Feedback
- Access Key 0 - Accessibility Statement
Text Resizing
The content is presented with scalable type to allow you to resize the text easily if need be.
- Resize in Firefox browser using Control and the ‘+’ or ‘-’ keys
- Resize in Safari using Command and the ‘+’ or ‘-’ keys
- Instructions to resize in Internet Explorer 7
Navigate Headings
Additionally, our pages are structured using headings to allow screen readers to quickly move between sections in a page (typically ‘H’ to cycle forward, and ‘Shift+H’ to cycle backward).
