Flowers for Algernon

One of my all time favorite bands, which also happens to be the one I sadly had to leave when I moved to NC, had the pleasure of performing at the premiere Gothic Theatre in Denver, CO. For those of you not familiar with the Denver music scene, the Gothic Theatre is top notch!

Their website was my first attempt at a grunge or ‘distressed’ design. Essentially this involved placing ‘dirty’ alpha layers over washed-out images I obtained from several public domain archives. Add some cursive text and a few well place flourishes and you’ve got a design that reflects the groups poetic lyrics atop of their audible mayhem.

UPDATE: The band and website have disbanded.

The show was defnitely rock and roll. Best I’ve ever heard ‘em sound, but still not quite as cool as the Almighty Chipotle Show.
